This is how we should do it.
As Baguio voters, this is what we should do.
Don’t wait to find out how the councilors you voted for last May will vote on the SM-Magalong Market Mallification Plan.
You have to let them know how YOU want them to vote in YOUR behalf.
You have to let them know NOW.
They owe it to you. They owe it to every single one of us.
We have NOT done everything we can do for them to hear us. They do NOT believe we are serious. They do not think that 50,000 individual signatories to a public petition mean anything.
As long as they can be in denial about the true public consensus in our city AGAINST the corporate takeover of our market, they can be corrupted.
The powerful lobbyists working on each and every one of them can always tell them, “Take it, you got nothing to lose. The people are ambivalent on this issue.”
If you can go out of your way to sign the petition, you can post a meme on social media. It’s much easier to do. 50,000 memes is more than viral, it is decisive.
NAME YOUR COUNCILOR AND LET HIM OR HER KNOW WHAT YOU EXPECT OF HIM OR HER.
Then post it on Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads–every platform you know. No one can stop you.
No one will “empower the people.” The people empower themselves. You empower yourself. You must stand up and be counted, in social media if nowhere else.
Forget Mayor Benjie Magalong. He’s gone. We’ve lost him.
Forget mainstream media. They have not mattered this far, they will no longer matter the rest of the way.
It’s all up to US now—we, the Sovereign People.

Gustong gusto nilang tawagin ang sarili nilang “public servant” pwes panindigan nila.
Hindi naman natin inaasahan ang “serbisyo” nila na maglinis ng bahay, magluto, maghugas ng plato, maglaba–figure of speech nga lang yang “public servant” na yan eh.
Ngayon, bigyan natin sila ng pagkakataon i-translate ang talinhaga sa totoong serbisyo, ang serbisyo ng pagtataguyod ng kapakanan ng publiko, magsimula sa HINDI pamimigay ng ating palengke, maski gaano pa kapangit, kabaho o makalat yang palengke na yan.
Madaling walisin ang dumi. Madaling buhusan ng tubig ang panghi. Pero ang mantsa ng ating dangal at kalawang sa ating paguugali kapag nagsimula hindi matatangal kahit anong kuskos, laba at kula ang gawin mo.
Kapag hinayaan nating makorap ang ating nga pinuno, kapag hinayaan natin silang masuhulan, sa sandaling matikman nila ang ginhawa ng yaman na nagmula sa pagbebenta ng ordinansa ng syudad, hindi na maibabalik ang dalisay na karangalan ng ating lungsod.
Kunwa-kunwari pa tayong ayaw natin magkaroon ng ugat ng political dynasty sa Baguio, tapos bigtime na korapsyon palulusutin din lang naman pala natin?
Isa-isangtabi mo na ang pagka-dyahe. Direktang komprontahin mo na ang opisyal na ibinoto mo. Pangalanan mo na siya, at huwag na tayong magpatumpik-tumpik. Diretsahan na.
